Subaru Pre-Tune Question Form

Please only fill out this form if you have a tune scheduled or have purchased a base map!

Thank you for choosing JM Automotive for your high-performance needs.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we will be allowing only the owner of the vehicle to wait while the vehicle is getting serviced and allow you to watch the tune from outside. But we are not allowing big groups of customers at our shop and are only trying to provide essential services to keep customers' cars running healthy. This is to protect our employees, our other customers, and keep us open. So if you bring any friends they will have to wait outside the entire time.

Please answer all of these questions to the best of your knowledge so the process of tuning your car goes as smoothly as possible and you get the most for your money. This is designed to benefit you so this process is as smooth as possible and that you do not show up with a car that cannot be tuned or does not meet your goals.

We will be taking your car to speeds in excess of 100 mph on the dyno. If you are not comfortable taking your car up to 100 mph then it is not ready to be dyno tuned. If your car vibrates or pulls to one side at high speeds we can not tune it.

    Car Information

A Cobb Accessport is Required for tuning All - 2015+ WRX and 2014+ FXT (All Subaru Flex Fuel Tunes Require a V3 Accessport, except Carberry Flex i.e. 2002-2005 WRX.)

List of all the modifications to your car or the parts you/we are installing. If they are stock please write STOCK or if you do not know please write UNKNOWN.

A note on fuels: Make sure you have the fuel you want to be tuned on in your vehicle when you come in for the tune. We can only tune your car for the fuel that is in the fuel tank. If you tune on 93 octane you will make more HP, but you can damage your engine if you boost with 91 or 92 octane in your vehicle. If you want to be able to run 91, 92, or 93 then you will want to tune your vehicle with 91 octane in it.

When you come in for the tune please have at least 1/4 tank for single fuel tunes. For dual/ flex fuel please have at least 1/4 but no more the 1/2 tank of fuel. We provide E85 included in the cost of the tune so no need to bring your own.

Do you currently have or have had any Check Engine Lights?
(We CANNOT tune a car if it has a check engine light due to any mechanical problems, if you currently don’t have any codes but get a code after the car is running on the new base map we provided, please update us with what codes you have. Your car should NOT have any check engine lights when you come in for the tune.

We can no longer disable check engine lights with the Cobb Accessport.
